Kajol's revenge on hubby Ajay

Never mind her fiery image, Kajol sure has a cool sense of humour, states Rapchik Rajni. Knowing very well that I so do adore Kads, she goes on to tell me that when hubby Ajay Devgn  doesn’t see her film, she ensures her revenge once in a while. Matlab, in response to his
Seems, she’s not going to see the political drama until he catches her flick. ‘That’s my revenge,’ Rajni recalls Kajol joking about her hubby not watching her movie. Although she caught a preview of Ajay’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, it remains to be seen if she will catch his next, Aakrosh. Guess Devgn will have to watch Kajol’s We Are Family first!

‘I don’t need a son to complete my family’ Says Kajol

Come September, when Kajol is due, you wonder if she secretly wishes for a son or a daughter.

That she is as excited to have a daughter, as she is to have a son, is a pleasant surprise. Kajol says, “I’m just hoping for a healthy, happy baby and a healthy, happy momma to look after the baby. I’ve a wonderful daughter. How can I say no to another girl just like her? I don’t believe I need a son to complete my family. My sister Tanissha and I made a complete family.”

Kajol strongly believes that women should have babies when they are ready to take care of them. Kajol admits she took time to have a second baby only so she could give herself fully to mothering him/her.

Meanwhile, this time off from films may be a dampener for Kajol’s fans. “I enjoy doing just one or two films a year,” she says, “If I do too many films people would get bored of me.” Though her fans would disagree with that, they should not lose hope because Kajol is willing to do another film with hubby Ajay when the opportunity comes her way. But she clarifies that Ajay and she would not do a conventional film for sure. “We can’t be running around in a sarson ka khet together. I had my fill in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.” The owner of Maratha Mandir, Mumbai which completed 800 shows begs to differ, Kajol.

Talking of new beginnings, We Are Family is the first time Kajol worked with Kareena Kapoor. Glad to be working with an actress her age, Kajol was all praise for Bebo’s sense of humour. “Kareena is an absolute delight to work with and she has a sense of humour. If you’re working for 150 days with someone humourless it can get really tedious.”

And if you have a problem with that, well then it’s for you to solve. Says Kajol, “I’ve worked with dreadfully dull actors but I don’t get affected by my environment.”

The actress is choosy. But you wonder why she seldom says no to friends like Karan Johar. Disagreeing, Kajol clarifies, “I’ve said no to Karan for Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. I don’t think I can give my best in an environment where I am not comfortable.

Yes, there have been films where I’ve felt, ‘Oh my God what am I doing here?’ But I don’t regret them.” Optimism and happy thoughts... just what a mother  to-be needs.

We will miss you Kajol

In 2010, Kajol will be seen in 3 movies, but after that she will take break for few years. Kajol is expecting and her date is due on October.
Kajol’s last movie is Toon Pur Ka Superhero with her hubby which is her last release in December.
Kajol and her daughter Nysa are very excited but they haven’t thought of a name as of now.
Kajol’s upcoming movie “ We are Family” is getting rave reviews. As reports suggests, She feels her real personality is reflected in all the parts she has played. She also feels that her maternal trait in real life merged with that of her character.
So for Kajol Maya’s character is not her reel life, but her love towards her family and her children is same in real life too.
We will definitely miss Kajol onscreen, but we wish her all the best the new kiddo in her life.

Mrs SRK calls Ajay!

Bollywood, like politics, makes strange bedfellows. That Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are not just the screen’s best couple but also the greatest of friends, is known. But that the Bollywood Badshah and Kajol’s husband, superstar Ajay Devgn, cannot get along... has remained both families’ secret.

The two actors have been cold with each other for 15 years, after their casting for Karan Arjun (1995) fell through. Both have moved on since then, and claim that time has healed all differences, but SRK and Ajay yet maintain a safe distance professionally and socially.

Now, that ice appears to have been broken by Bollywood Badshah’s wife, Gauri Khan. At a party earlier this week thrown by designer Anna Singh, people were surprised to see Gauri in close and animated conversation with Ajay.

A socialite said, “Jaiveer (Anna’s husband) had a birthday bash, which was attended by Gauri and her close friends Bhavna Panday and Neelam Kothari among others. Ajay, who is close to Anna and Jaiveer, was also there. When Gauri spotted Ajay, she went up to him to congratulate the actor for his performance in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai.” Naturally, Ajay was pleased to receive the compliment from Mrs Shah Rukh Khan. And after Gauri took the initiative, her gang of girls also jumped into the conversation with Ajay. Bollywood’s inner circle believe it won’t be long before the two actors bury the hatchet. SRK could use the excuse of calling on the Devgns when Kajol delivers the couple’s second baby in October.

Five reasons why Kajol has topped the shaadi.com poll to become everyone’s fave bahu

As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, shaadi.com conducted a poll in which 250,000 women participated. Others in the running for the top spot were Aishwarya Rai, Gauri Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora, Twinkle Khanna and Kiran Rao. In the poll, 43.08 per cent women voted for Kajol!
Here's why...

Zero ambition:
Kajol was at the height of her career when she got married to Ajay Devgn and left it all behind. Women who are not overtly ambitious still find favour among the masses.
Balancing act:
Salman in an interview said that he does not mind if his future wife works like Kajol – that is work on one film a year and look after home and hearth the rest of the time. Everyone likes her cause she is doing the balancing act and doing it successfully.
Great mum:
Kajol didn’t take up any assignments till her daughter Nysa was old enough. She picks her up from school every day. She even plans her outdoor shoots in such a way that Nysa can accompany her on these.
Happy with hubby and his family:
We know Kajol is moody and temperamental but her 11-year-old marriage to Ajay Devgn has been rock solid. She has also been living with her in-laws, who dote on her. (That’s no mean feat!)
Dress sense:
Since she got married she has junked the short dresses for either ethnic or elegant western wear. She’s also looking far more glam post motherhood.

800 weeks of DDLJ

The many-hued Shah Rukh-Kajol love story, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) will complete 800 weeks at Maratha Mandir in February next year. Yes, a spectacle it indeed is. Manoj Desai, owner of the theatre has no plans of discontinuing the screening of the film.

And why would he? Not after DDLJ producer Yash Chopra has decided to organise a mega celebration in February 2011, when the film completes 800 weeks of running.

Like most Yash Raj projects, this event too is being planned at a large scale and preparations have already begun. On Monday, Yash Chopra called up Manoj Desai to tell him about the plans he had for the celebration. Says a source, “The celebration will either be held at Maratha Mandir or at a five-star hotel.”

The invitations are soon going to be sent out to the cast and crew of DDLJ. Kajol would hopefully bring her second child along since she is due this September. The source adds, “DDLJ keeps getting better; it is like old wine. The magic of this evergreen romance keeps pulling audiences to Maratha Mandir.”

February 2010 saw the film set a record by completing 750 weeks of running. Apparently, Yash Raj Films wanted to celebrate this year. “Somehow, things did not fall into place this year,” reveals the source.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ opened to full houses and rave reviews all over the world on October 20, 1995. Since then, it is the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema.

Manoj Desai said, “Yes. Celebration ki baat hui hai. Right now I am out of town. When I am back, I will further talk to Yashji about this.” However a Yash Raj Films spokesperson denied any such plans.

“Directing Kajol And Kareena Was A Dream-Come-True”: Siddharth Malhotra

Though Kareena Kapoor is Siddharth Malhotra’s cousin, but getting her into the film We Are Family was not an easy affair.
Says Siddharth, “Kareena’s grandmother Mrs Krishna Raj Kapoor and my grandfather actor Premnath are sibings. So I’ve known her from my childhood. We’ve practically grown up together. When I went to Karan Johar with the idea of remaking Stepmom I told him that Kajol and Kareena were my first and last choices. Karan not only got me the remake rights, he also got me the two actresses”.
Directing Kajol and Kareena was a dream-come-true for Siddharth. “According to me Kareena has surpassed Julia Roberts in the original. The two actresses are the best we have. And there was never an ego issue. Both actresses were super-professional.That is why it took two years to get remake rights and only 64 shifts to make my film. Kajol was a dream. She would arrive dot at 9 am on the sets for the first shot at 9:30 and we would pack up at 6 pm so that she could return to her baby. To me she is the ideal actress wife, and mother, and that’s what she plays in my film.”
Siddharth can’t wait for Kajol to have her second baby so he can make another filmwith her. Says the besotted director, “Kajol is addictive. No one can wok only once with her. She kept me on my toes. If you work with her you better do your homework, or she will grill you. Karan has taught me to know my characters on my fingertips”.
Siddharth claims that he knows no other life than films. “I watch 3-4 films a day even today in every language. I don’t go out to socialize. No parties and no late nights. I couldn’t have made a young with-it cool-and-hip film even if I wanted to. It had to be a film about family values. I have grown up in that atmosphere. And I assisted Sooraj Barjatya (in Vivah) and Karan Johar (in Kal Ho Na Ho).”
So how different is We Are Family from the original Stepmom?
Siddharth Malhotra ponders. “If you remember Sooraj-ji took the heart of Nadiya Ke Paar and made Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Likewise I’ve taken just 6-7 key elements of Stepmom and then written it on my own.”
Next Siddharth returns to his first script, a family comedy. “I was actually going to make that first. Then I got stuck with the last twenty minutes. Now I’ve got it worked out.”

August 04, 2010, (Sawf News) - Kajol who turns 35 today, August 5, celebrates the occasion carrying a gift that is truly special, if not divine - her second baby.
"This birthday is extra special for me, my husband (Ajay Devgan) my daughter (Nysa)," she tells TOI. "My mother, my sister and my parents-in-law are happy because I'm carrying my second child. And everyone around me is especially excited about the addition to the family.''
Kajol will be next seen in Karan Johar's We Are Family releasing in theatres on September 3.
The film is a remake of the Hollywood film, Stepmom (1998), starring Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts.
Kajol plays a terminally ill divorcee who has to accept Kareena, the new woman in her ex-husband Arjun Rampal's life, as the stepmother of her kids. The heartwarming film shows the poignant efforts of the two women to find common ground.
"The film has a lot of dynamics. There is an interesting tension in the various relationships that this family has. And it shows everyone in very human light. There are no saints and there are no villains," says Kajol.
